Why ULFR Is Being Built

Across Europe, the functions that wild landscapes depend on are rarely under one roof. Research sits in universities. Conservation sits in NGOs. Veterinary response sits elsewhere. Land management belongs to owners and authorities, and financing is too often an afterthought — a perpetual search for donations that decides what can be done, rather than what needs to be done.

ULFR — United Lands for Rewilding is being established to address that fragmentation directly. The objective is an integrated structure in which wildlife research, ecosystem restoration, land stewardship, veterinary capability, wildlife protection and durable economic structures reinforce one another within a single coordinated model.

ULFR is presently in its foundational stage. Organisational architecture, public communications and commercial development have begun. No land has been acquired, no facilities constructed and no field operations are active. We consider that an advantage: the structure can be built correctly, in the open, before commitments are made.

This journal will document that process honestly — what is planned, what is in development, what is active, and what has been completed. Nothing more, and nothing less.
